A Snapshot of Springtime in Paris

Tonight is your last night to get your submission in for the current challenge over at The Stampsmith Challenge.  This month we're challenging you to create something using Spring Flowers and Colours.  Simply upload your artwork to the blog linky and you'll be entered into a draw for a free sheet of stamps by The Stampsmith! (a $21.00 value)  All projects using at least one image by The Stampsmith will be eligible.

For my card, I used several stamps from the Paris sheet.  I love this sheet with so many great images.  Bottom left you'll see the Eiffel Tower, top middle you'll see Notre Dame, next to it, a Paris postmark and middle right you'll see a Paris map.

I hope you decide to join in on the fun.  I look forward to seeing all your creations!

Thanks for stoppin' by! :)

If you haven't had a chance already, be sure to pop over to the Stampsmith Challenge where the Design Team is looking to see what you create using their photo as your inspiration!  You have all month to play for your chance to win $21 toward your choice of Stampsmith stamps!

Here's the creation I came up with using the colors and patterns from the photo as my inspiration.  I can't wait to see your take on this challenge! :)

Mother's Day Tea Party

I'm a little late in posting this Mother's Day card, but I haven't been able to get together with my Mum yet as my Dad has been ill with The Shingles and not really up for company. So, I'm going to post this card anyway, hoping that she doesn't see it until I get it to her in the near future.

I used the Paris stamp sheet by The Stampsmith.  I love this set and thought this image of the tea party would be fitting since I remember having tea parties quite often with my Mum when I was a young girl.  :)

This is a bit of an angle view to show you the glitter detail a bit more clearly in the patterned paper.

Ribbons and Lace Challenge

It's time for a little voyage to Paris...well, in my dreams anyway! lol :) I created this card for the current challenge over at The Stampsmith Challenge. This month, the theme is "Ribbons and Lace" and we're celebrating The Stampsmith Challenge's one year anniversary with a fun blog hop. For my project, I used the Eiffel Detail stamp, along with the postmark, map and Bon Voyage sentiment stamps from the Paris sheet, all by The Stampsmith.

This is my full, framed project. My youngest daughter is absolutely crazy over anything and everything to do with Paris, especially the Eiffel Tower, so this project is for her.
Here's a close up of the ribbon and lace in keeping with the theme.

Au Revoir Mon Cherie

The card I am sharing today makes use of stamps from two stamp plates from The Stampsmith. The main image of the couple is from My Honey plate The cancellation marks, map and Au Revoir are from the always popular Paris plate.
This is the first time I've used this particular stamp and when working with it I couldn't help but get caught up in the romance of the image and how a story starts to unfold. That is for me, what makes photo realistic stamps so appealing, stories can be created or the people featured in the stamps can become adopted family.
In the top corner I cut a piece of scrap paper to form a corner accent and then stamped Au Revoir directly onto the paper. After stamping the map from the Paris plate I tore it in half.
In the bottom corner is the other half of the stamped map and the cancellation marks.
Stamping onto pattern paper creates simple, co-ordinated embellishments for projects. Lynne x
