Rest Your Weary Head

Hello Everyone
Although I have shared on my personal Blog, Adorn, until now I have not shared this pillow  I made back in June for a lovely friend of mine who was celebrating her birthday.

Reaching for Portia from Cleopatra and Friends I created a focal by stamping directly onto a doily I had stained stitching pearly beads around the edge and topping with a shabby bow.
We are into the final days of the August challenge at TSC.  It is well worth your while entering as there is a prize of $21 to spend on stamps of your choice at The Stampsmith on-line store.

The Princess of France

Hello
It has been a wee while since my last post.
I have become quite smitten with Estelle's Shakespearean stamp plates, so many beautiful images packed onto each plate.  For this post I would like to share a petite notebook which I altered using the Princess of France from Julia and Friends. .
This notebook was a gift to an art friend who adores anything with a French flavour to it.
A reminder of the new TSC. World Traveller is the challenge theme for August at TSC Blog. If you are looking for a challenge then all you need to do is create anything be it a card, tag, altered art, jewellery, the list is endless but please, you must include at least one Stampsmith stamp on your artwork.
Until next time.

Beloved

Hello Everyone
I hope you are having a lovely weekend.
For this post I am sharing a fabric wall hanging I made some time ago, in fact it was for May's TSC.
I selected the beautiful 1920's bride from Portrait of a Lady stamp plate. http://www.stampsmith.net/ecommerce/unmounted-rubber-stamp-sheets/portrait-lady-art-rubber-stamps.html which I used in conjunction with TAP (Transfer Artist Paper).  If you are a fan of photo real stamps and want to further the scope of the surface you stamp onto, other than glossy cardstock and other papers, then TAP will open up a whole new world of possibilities for you.
For this wall hanging I transferred the bridal image which I stamped onto TAP onto scrap cotton fabric.Prior to transferred, the image was tinted with Caran d'ache watersoluble crayons to co-ordinate with the fabric I painted for the main panel.
The June challenge is well underway at TSC Blog where our Guest Artist, the talented Paula, has selected the theme of Altered Books, Boxes and Bags.  All details for rules of entry and the prize available at TSC Blog.

Full of Grace

Hello Everyone
It has been quite some time since I last posted so it is lovely to be here today and to be able to share one of the cards that I was thrilled to see published in Stampington & co's Take Ten publication (Spring edition).
The card features one of the stamps from the beautiful Olivia and Friends plate.
The fragment beneath the main image is one of the stamps from the Cartolina Postale set stamped onto prepared watercolour paper.
Another time I will share some more of the cards featured alongside this one.
Thank you for visiting.

Portia

Hello Everyone
It has been a few weeks since my last post Sleep Sweet Miranda, the lavender sachet using the beautiful Miranda.  For some months now I have very much enjoyed using the various Shakespeare stamps available from The Stampsmith, enjoying their versatility which is far beyond creating for people who are fans of Shakespeare.
The card I am sharing today, I am thrilled to say, was published in the Spring issue of Stampintgon & co's Take Ten, published alongside another four cards all featuring Shakespeare characters as the focal on each card.  Portia from Cleopatra and Friends. is featured on the first card.
Portia quickly became a firm favourite of mine alongside Ophelia who I also never tire of creating with. The other stamp used was from Cartolina Postale which I have mentioned before is an easily overlooked stamp plate but which is so useful.  Stamped onto prepared watercolour paper the stamp and torn into a panel.  Hand stained tag, lace and seam binding create a unified colour on this collage style card which was embellished with fragments of this and that.
Thank you for visiting this post, have a lovely weekend.

Sleep Sweet Miranda

Hello Everyone
For my DT sample this week I would like to share something I made as far back as December!
The stamp I worked with is the beautiful Miranda from Julia and Friends.
This was a gift of a lavender sachet which I made for a friend.
Miranda was stamped onto TAP before transferring to canvas then the fun of embellishing with wintry white and creamy laces and a shabby seam binding bow.
It is now down to the very last hours for entry at the February Stampsmith Challenge but of course that does not mean you do not have time to enter.  Details can be found at TSC Blog but do hurry if you wish to participate.

Her Delicate Heart

Hello Everyone
I am sorry I have been absent for a wee while. Before my enforced absence I created this altered canvas where I used the beautiful Ophelia as my focal.
Ophelia comes in various forms, this one is the medium size version.
I stamped Ophelia onto painted cardstock before layering with an epoxy frame.
Soon, over at my personal Blog,  Adorn  I will be sharing more details about this canvas.
Are you aware that the February challenge is underway at TSC? As always there is a prize of $21 to spend at The Stampsmith on-line store on stamps of your choice so it is well worth entering.

The Blush Of Her Cheeks

Hello Everyone
I would like to share a card I made some months ago when I received the beautiful Olivia and Friends stamp plate.
For this card I had fun staining a shipping tag and also papers to co-ordinate with the colour of the tag and as I was having so much fun I also stained some lace.
You might well recognise that I used one of the Cartolina Postale stamps for the background.  This is an ever useful plate especially if you like to create your own backgrounds.
Please remember that TSC is well underway for this month where we are asking you to Re-use/Re-cycle, why not come and join us and if you would be interested in becoming a Guest Artist for TSC then you can read all about it over at TSC blog.
Thank You for visiting.

A Time For Giving

Hello
As I am in the middle of Christmas preparations including gift making I have also found myself finding ways of presenting those gifts.
Using the Christmas Greetings stamp plate I selected a sentiment to stamp directly onto this calico bag.

The bag was then dressed up with lace, pearl beads and a shabby bow.
What is tucked inside? I will share with you in another post the handmade gift that is inside which is now on its way to an art friend.
You do still have time to enter the November Challenge, White on White.  We welcome all manner of art but please include at least one Stampsmith stamp on your entry. All rules and prize details available at TSC, see sidebar for link.

The Author of Her Life

Hello Everyone
Today I would like to share a DT sample where I made use of a beautiful stamp from the Belinda and Friends plate.
I stamped the image directly onto some script paper which gives a slightly more muted appearance to the image compared to if it were stamped onto glossy cardstock.

An old book cover was used as the base of this hanging layering up vintage book text, dyed lace and trims and anything else that was to hand.
We are now past the half-way mark for the October Stampsmith Challenge With Gratitude. We welcome your entries to this challenge whether you make a card, tag or altered art, anything goes but please remember to include at least one Stampsmith stamp on your entry.

Turning The Pages

Hello Everyone
TSC for September is underway with our theme of Bags 'n' Tags. For this particular post I will share the tag I made for my DT sample.
I decided to ink up Juliet from Olivia and Friends plate. Alongside Juliet I also used a stamp from Cartolina Postale. This is a set I overlooked for too long as now it is amongst my Stampsmith stamps I find it to be indispensable.
As always with TSC your entry must contain at least one Stampsmith stamp. At the end of September a random winner will be selected to win $21 worth of stamps of your choice at The Stampsmith on-line store.
Have fun!
