Mother's Day Tea Party

I'm a little late in posting this Mother's Day card, but I haven't been able to get together with my Mum yet as my Dad has been ill with The Shingles and not really up for company. So, I'm going to post this card anyway, hoping that she doesn't see it until I get it to her in the near future.

I used the Paris stamp sheet by The Stampsmith.  I love this set and thought this image of the tea party would be fitting since I remember having tea parties quite often with my Mum when I was a young girl.  :)

This is a bit of an angle view to show you the glitter detail a bit more clearly in the patterned paper.

Think of Me, Always

Hello
The Stampsmith Challenge is well underway with May's theme of a Sketch Challenge.  Click the link to take you to TSC where you can see the sketch that we ask you be inspired by and also all the DT samples.
I selected a stamp from the beautiful Think of Me plate.
Altering stretched canvases is a favourite base of mine to work on. I decided to turn the sketch on its side as a landscape layout was more suited to what I had in mind.
The stamped image was gently painted before layering onto various pieces of lace to tie in with the colours around her.
This photograph shows Think of Me which is also from the stamp late, here I stamped it onto a torn piece of vintage napkin.
Other details are on my Blog, Adorn.
We look forward to seeing your Sketch Challenge entries. It is certainly worthwhile entering as a random prize draw takes place at the end of the month with the winner selecting $21 worth of stamps of their choice from The Stampsmith on-line store.
Good Luck.

From This Day Forward

Hello Everyone
I was thrilled to be asked if I would contribute a piece of art for a column at the amazing Unruly Paper Arts, an on-line magazine.
I had recently received Wedding Bells plate, which could not be more perfect for May's theme of Wedding Wonders at UPA. This is a beautiful set of stamps for all wedding related projects, anniversary cards, etc.
Here is a little peek of what I created but you will need to click the Unruly Paper Arts link to see the full project. Helene, the columnist at UPA also asked some questions about my use of lace which you can also read at UPA.
The Stampsmith Challenge is now underway. We would love to see your interpretation of the Sketch Challenge. It is worthwhile entering as the prize is $21 to spend at The Stampsmith store on stamps of your own choice.
 Wishes

The Many Faces of Babies Board Book

I have a fun project...but a long post...to share with you tonight. I made this little board book for one of my colleagues, she's a sweetheart and is expecting her first baby. I'm so happy for her and I thought I'd make this funny little book to showcase some of the funny faces babies make. :)

As you can see from all the pictures below, I used the entire Ooh Baby Stamp Sheet by The Stampsmith to create this cute little book.  I don't think I've ever created anything using every stamp in set, but this was a super fun project to make.  I used cereal boxes for the pages and die cut pattered paper to cover the cereal box board.   I adhered the patterned paper with a glue stick and distressed the page edges, the photostamp images and the sentiments using tea dye ink. I looked at all the images and came up with the sentiments myself.  The sentiments I chose are my interpretations of the baby expression alongside.  To finish it off, I went for a visit to my friend, Janice's and she graciously let me borrow her Bind-it-all.   Ya gotta love that little machine!  Thanks, so much, Janice!

Ooh Baby Stamp Sheet

8.5" x 11" page of sentiments to print off (.pdf format)

Holy cow that was a long post!   Lots of images to upload!  I hope you enjoyed the many faces of babies...after all laughter is the best medicine!

Thanks for stoppin' by!  :)

They Say She Had The Midas Touch

Hello Everyone
Ophelia is always instantly recognisable as one of The Stampsmith's stamps but did you know she is available in various formats:- there is the small version, medium version and two large versions with the choice of her facing left or right and if that were not enough choice she is also available wood mounted.
For the wall hanging I would like to share today I used one of the large versions.
Ophelia was embossed onto pattern paper with the edges embossed with a selection of embossing powders
On this wall hanging I also incorporated one of the stamps from Cartolina Postale. The detail shown above is  where I selected only the postal mark to stamp and emboss onto mica.
This photograph shows one of the postcard stamps from Cartolina Postale repeatedly stamped onto my prepared background. Further details are available on this particular post at my Blog, Adorn.
We are approaching the final days of The Stampsmith Challenge but if you are looking to enter a challenge then you do still have time. Our theme for April is The Colours of Spring. Our challenge site welcomes all styles of art whether it be card, tag, altered art, etc but please remember to include at least one Stampsmith stamp on your artwork to be eligible for the Prize Draw of a free Stampsmith stamp set of your choice.
Happy Stamping.

I have a creation to share with you tonight using the beautiful Bed of Roses photostamp by The Stampsmith.

I distressed the designer paper and doily die cut with Tea Dye ink and used my pastels to colour in the roses in a subtle pink hue. For embellies, I added a little pewter 'Believe' charm and some stunning black tulle roses ribbon.  Then, more black tulle, pink bling and black photo corners to finish it off.

It's Been a While!

Hello all my Stampsmith friends, sorry that I have been MIA.  It has been a difficult few months.  I was diagnosed with Vertigo a few months ago (and for someone with MS, vertigo is not a picnic) and it took over a month to recover.  I wasn't even able to create as when I looked down or concentrated on something, I was ill.  When that was finally done and over with (disappeared as quick as it arrived) my computer died!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know which was worse.  My laptop has been my connection to the outside world over the past few years when my illness left me home bound.  After some grieving (and believe me, I did grieve) I was able to get a new one!!! but the last tragedy occurred.....my blog died....crashed....I have no idea but I was unable to post any more...I had some 'techy' friends check it out and they could not figure it out!!! So, I made a new blog, my new address is Sunflower Mel's Crafting Corner (same name).  Please pop over and say hello.  It has been a bit of a challenge for me, learning a new blogging site, but I am embracing it.
So, now that I have rambled on....here is my DT post for The Stampsmith!!!  I used one of her stamps from her plate of rubber called, 'Thank Heavens for Little Girls #2'.  I LOVE this plate of stamps!!! This is a very simple card, but I love pink and the little girls are a great combination!!!! If you are interested in knowing what I used to complete this project, drop by my blog.
Thanks for being patient!!! I am so happy to be back!!! Thanks for peeking in!
